DISGRACEFUL PUBLIC CONDUCT OF KAJOLA REPRESENTATIVES – NANS CALL FOR ACCOUNTABILITY AND DEVELOPMENT

The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Southwest Zone through the office of the Director of Media & Publicity Comr. Mustapha Imran Taiwo expresses its utter disappointment and deep concern over the recent public exchanges between Hon. Azeez Musbau (Action), the current member representing Kajola at the Oyo State House of Assembly, and his predecessor, Hon. Akeem Mustapha (Mugaty), who currently serves as the Executive Chairman of Kajola Local Government.

The reported sharing of constituency allowance, as admitted by Hon. Musbau, and the retaliatory personal attack by Hon. Mustapha are highly irresponsible and unbecoming of leaders entrusted with the mandate of the people.

This is not leadership. This is politics without purpose. Frankly, this political squabble over constituency allowance sharing is an embarrassment to the people of Kajola. It is not only shameful but a tragic distraction from the urgent developmental needs of our communities.

While both of you exchange words in the media, what do we see on ground?

  • No new roads
  • No visible empowerment programs
  • No youth development initiatives
  • No tangible constituency projects

This is not what representation means. This is not why you were elected.

In Ogbomoso, Iseyin, and even Saki East, we see lawmakers and local government chairmen collaborating and implementing life-changing projects, organizing skills training, and giving hope to the people. Why should Kajola be different?

We demand more than newspaper headlines. We demand visible progress.
Enough of the games. Enough of the ego battles.

We, as the representatives of the students and youth across the Southwest, hereby state as follows:

  1. We condemn in strong terms the ongoing political embarrassment caused by both Hon. Azeez and Hon. Mustapha.
  2. We demand a full breakdown of constituency project execution from both current and past administrations in Kajola.
  3. We insist on visible, physical development projects in every ward of Kajola empowerment programs, educational support, youth entrepreneurship schemes, healthcare outreach, and infrastructure development.
  4. We call on civil society organizations, community leaders, and traditional institutions in Kajola to rise and hold their representatives accountable.

NANS Southwest will not watch idly as our homegrown democracy is reduced to drama and disgrace. The people of Kajola deserve more. We demand performance not press statements.

We also appeal to Governor Seyi Makinde to extend his commendable reforms in education and healthcare across Oyo State to Kajola. We urge your administration to deploy an audit team to investigate local government allocations and ensure that Kajola is not left behind in the march toward progress.

A Final Word:
This message is not for noise, it is for action. If no tangible steps are taken toward meaningful development in Kajola in the coming weeks, NANS Southwest will mobilize accordingly.

Leadership is a duty. Stop the show. Serve the people.

Yours in struggle,
Comrade Mustapha Imran Taiwo Director of Media & Publicity NANS Southwest Zone 07033000566
