The leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, expresses deep outrage over the persistent and unresolved grievances concerning the Billpoint application, operated by tech entrepreneur Mr. Linus Williams, popularly known as Blord.
Despite our earlier letter in March, 2025, directly addressed to the Founder & CEO of Billpoint Technology, outlining numerous complaints from Nigerian students and youths regarding account blockages, poor customer service, and disturbing allegations of financial misconduct, we are yet to receive any official response, nor has there been any effort from Billpoint to engage us in dialogue.
We explicitly requested a meeting to address these critical issues and hear Billpoint’s side of the story in the interest of fairness and transparency. Unfortunately, this request was ignored, which raises serious suspicions of deliberate evasion and potential internal irregularities.
To make matters worse, a recent social media leak has further fueled public concern, showing a highly unprofessional and demeaning conversation between the CEO Blord and a customer. The tone and words used are not only disrespectful but also reflect a disturbing abuse of corporate power and disregard for customers’ rights. It is disheartening to see a business leader, regardless of financial status, treat customers who are the lifeblood of any business with such arrogance and disdain.
Let it be clearly stated: Nigerian students will not tolerate oppression in any form, especially from entities profiting off our vulnerability.
We strongly advise Mr. Blord to reflect on his responsibilities as a business leader. Every customer matters regardless of how much they transact. With leadership comes humility, and with business comes accountability.
We are giving Billpoint one final opportunity to engage with the leadership of NANS Southwest Zone in a formal meeting within one week. Failure to respond positively will leave us with no other choice than to mobilize over 50 million Nigerian students across the country in a unified campaign to shut down all Billpoint operations and boycott all businesses associated with Blord.
This is not just a demand, it is a call for justice. The financial security, trust, and dignity of Nigerian students must never be taken for granted.
